I’m trying to brush up on my Emacs skills, I’ve found these videos tutorials as a pretty quick how-to guide.
I’m going through the Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs on Harvard’s OpenCourseWare course to brush up on my Lisp skills.
If you’re interested in this course then you should start reading the purple book, Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs if you haven’t already. The book is old but it’s freely available now.
Also here is the first video lecture of this course if you want to see if this peeks your interests.
I had a need to start using org so here are the resources necessary to help anyone getting started using Emacs. I’m not sure if there is such a thing as a quick start guide for Emacs but this should help you in getting setup to use this text editor.
GNU Emacs Page
This is where you can download the editor and they also have a few guides for you to read.
The Common Lisp Cookbook
They also have a guide on setting up the Emacs IDE.
Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs aka the “purple book”
This book is a little dated but all code shown is written in the Lisp programming language.
